Assigned Certification
The Building Control (Amendment) Regulations 2014 (BC(a)R) requires the appointment of Design Certifiers and Assigned Certifiers to oversee the design, construction and certification of building works. The legislation dictates that only a Registered Building Surveyor, Registered Architect or Chartered Engineer can undertake the appointments of Assigned Certifier and Design Certifier.

As Assigned Certifiers we
- Register your project on Building Control Management System (BCMS)
- Act as the single point of contact with Building Control
- Prepare & submit Commencement Notice submission to Building Control
- Liaise with design & construction teams
- Prepare Inspection Plans to ensure adequate monitoring of works
- Carry out inspections to ensure works comply with Building Regulations
- Co-ordinate the inspections of consultants to ensure specialist elements of the build comply with Building Regulations
- Co-ordinate designer & sub-contractor certification
- Prepare & submit Certificate of Compliance on Completion to Building Control
Design Certifier Services
As Design Certifiers we
- Review your design for compliance with Building Regulations
- Advise Design team on changes required for compliance
- Liaise with Design team members to ensure specialist elements of the design comply with Building Regulations
- Complete Certificate of Compliance (Design)
- Carry out inspections to ensure works are constructed in accordance with design
- Provide required inspection reports and documentation for the Certificate of Compliance on Completion submission
